Ginger Beef Bowl

Ingredients:

  • For Meat Marinade:
    3 tablespoons brown sugar
    1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oil (sesame or vegetable)
1/2 to 1/4 pound skirt or flank steak
  • For Sauce:
1 tablespoon oil (sesame or vegetable)
    1 1/2 cups chicken broth
2 tablespoons each: soy sauce and brown sugar
6 ounces fresh snow peas, trimmed

Procedures:

In medium bowl or Ziploc bag mix contents of sesame spice packet with brown sugar and soy sauce. Add steak and turn several times to coat. Allow to marinate 1 hour or refrigerate overnight.
In small saucepan, sauté contents of vegetable seasoning packet in oil 30 seconds. Add broth, soy sauce and brown sugar, simmer 15 minutes covered on low. Keep on low heat until read to serve.

Bring pot of water to boil. Add noodles, bring back to a boil and set timer for 6 minutes. Add snow peas for last 30 seconds of cooking time and drain together. Place noodles and pea pods into two or three bowls.

While noodles cook, preheat skillet or grill and sear steak on high 3 to 4 minutes first side and 2 minutes at medium on the second side. Remove from heat, and slice into narrow strips. Arrange steak on top of noodles and pea pods, spoon sauce over all and serve.

Optional: Garnish with wedges of lime or top with peanuts.
